Though the storm did no direct impact to the Philippines, the rainbands caused a considerable amount of damage to the nation. It was reported that CGAC Iloilo coordinated with commercial vessels rescuing 178 passengers, as their vessel, MV Malaysia Asia sank near Calabazas Island, Ajuy, Iloilo.
