Chase and Citibank announced on October 28 that they will waive overdraft, ATM, and late fees for customers in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut over the next 72 hours.
On October 29, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) recommended people caught in Hurricane Sandy use social media like Twitter and Facebook to communicate if they have no other means of communication.
Due to flooding and other storm-related problems, Amtrak cancelled all Acela Express, Northeast Regional, Keystone Service and Shuttle services on 29 and 30 October.
More than 13,000 flights were canceled across the U.S. on October 29, and more than 3,500 were called off October 30.
