Southeastern Iowa saw up to 18.5 inches of snow. The heaviest snow fell in the eastern half of the state. Des Moines fared slightly better, where only 6.5 inches fell. Some roads remained closed on Wednesday night, and over the course of the storm, state troopers responded to 151 accidents and assisted 428 motorists.
